MSU Study Abroad in London, England
In the summer of 2014, I once again made my way "across the pond"--this time to London, England-- where I had the incredible and truly life-changing opportunity to study my passion of English in its rightful birthplace. Over the course of my six-week stay in the United Kingdom, I studied at Regents College, traveled extensively, visited a great many galleries, and experienced literature in a way that truly would not have been otherwise possible. By embarking on weekend trips to Ireland and the English countryside, going to the British National Library and Museum, attending Shakespearean plays in the Bard's hometown, as well as the renowned Globe Theater, for example, I was able to take see the places, and take active part in the enthralling culture that ultimately inspired the greats like Chaucer, Keats, Woolf, and even Sir Shakespeare himself, to write. I feel immensely fortunate, unbelievably excited, and ultimately compelled to be able to share first-hand personal experience, photos, and stories of my time in the country that reinvigorated my spirit and my zeal for the English language with my future students and sincerely hope that I will be able to instill the same fervor for reading and writing in them, in this way.
